Making Modifications Without Sacrificing Taste

Updated: Feb 3, 2020

Ok, so let’s be honest, if you’re going to eat a piece of cheesecake, this is going to be an indulgence for the day, but that’s ok! I have not successfully found a low fat, low calorie cheesecake recipe that actually tastes good. With that being said, this recipe has some great tweaks to it, to make it better overall on the amount of calories and sugar. Below I have the nutritional panel of our Blueberry Cheesecake recipe with a traditional recipe from Epicurious.com.

Couple things to point out, our pie is 8 servings vs the latter is 10, so bigger pie slices and better nutritional content, SCORE! There are 42 grams of fat in our DE recipe vs 44 on the traditional. Not a huge difference, and no difference on saturated fat. Thank you cream cheese and coconut oil ;) But the carb content of the DE recipe is at 27 grams vs 71 grams! And the sugar content is 15 grams vs 51 grams per serving! BIG differences. Again this is still tasty and a treat. Hope you enjoy!
